Module 1 - OPSCOM System Setup

Prerequisites

Before proceeding, review sections 1 through 3 of the New Client Orientation and Rollout tasks checklist that you should read through before proceeding. Please review sections 1 - 3.checklist.

Roles and Permissions

  • permissions that are bundled and assigned to a set of users. For example, you may wish to create a role for Patrol Officer. You will set the permissions for this role and assign users the role of Patrol Officer when you would like to grant them permissions that match that job.

    Users can be assigned multiple roles.roles simultaneously.

  • To grant a user specific access, such as a Patrol Officer, define the necessary permissions for that role and assign it to the relevant users.

Managing Admin Accounts

WhenUpon initial setup, the system isprovides setone upadministrator foraccount. You can manage additional accounts by referring to the first time there will only be one Administrator. The OPSCOM team will have set it up and provided the login details to you. To manage your Admin Accounts please see Managing Admin User Accounts.Accounts article.

Setting Up UserTypes

User Types

YourUser Types define the rules for different groups of individuals within your system, such as distinguishing between Full-Time Students and Part-Time Students.

  • Coordinate with your Account Executive willto helpdetermine the appropriate User Types and associated rules for your organization.

  • Determine the mandatory fields and profile information required during the New User registration process.

Admin Options

Many system settings are controlled through Admin Options, which manage the picklists used throughout the platform. Review these options to ensure your dropdown menus and selection lists match your operational needs.

  • Offence Types: Used to define specific offences, set fine amounts, and manage discount structures.

 

Customizing System Settings

Email Template Setup

The Email Template area allows you to setcustomize upthe look and whatfeel theof rulescommunications appropriatesent to those users may be. For example, you may want to allow Full-Time Students to park in different lots than Part-Time students. User Types will lay the groundwork for you to do this.  

You will also need to decide what information you will require when a new user creates a profile on your system. 

Setting up the Admin Options

Many of the Admin Options control your picklists for different options. 

Setting up ViolationAdmin Options 

If you have purchased ViolationAdmin then you will need to set up your Ticket Types. Ticket Types are used to distinguish what type of Violation/ticket is being issued.clients. You will also need to set up your Offence Types. Fine amounts are set and the discount for each offence is administered here.

Setting

Admin up the Communication/Landing Page for Admins

WhenYou initiallycan logging onto OperationsCommander as an administrator,customize the first landing page you are presented with has a message window that canappears beon editedthe initial landing page when administrators log into OperationsCommander.
