Vehicle Types

The Vehicle Types in OPSCOMfeature allows administrators to define and manage categories for different kinds of vehicles (e.g., Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Van). ThisIts featureprimary purpose is essentialto forensure accurate vehicle classification, supportingsupport specific parking rules, and enhancingenhance reporting capabilities within yourthe OPSCOMsystem. This article is intended for OPS-COM administrators responsible for configuring vehicle settings.

Setup and Configuration

This feature is a core administrative tool used to establish the options available when users register a vehicle in the system.

Admin Side: Administrators must have the appropriate system role permissions enabled to access the vehicle configuration menus and manage the list of vehicle types.

User Side: End-users will interact with these settings by selecting a matching vehicle type from a drop-down menu when adding a new vehicle to their portal profile.

Using this Feature

Administrators can use the following instructions to navigate the management interface to seamlessly add, edit, or delete vehicle types.

Accessing the Management Interface

  1. ManagingHover Vehicleover TypesSystem isConfiguration, doneclick throughVehicles, thethen Manage Vehicle Types page..

    1. Hover over System Configuration, then Vehicles, and click Manage Vehicle Types.
    2. The Manage Vehicle Types page shows all currently defined vehicle types, providing a straightforward interface to add, edit, and delete various vehicle types.

    Adding Vehicle Types

    1. Click the Add Type. button.

    2. Complete

      Enter the descriptive name of the category in the Name field.

    3. Click the Save Changes. button to add the new vehicle type to the list.

Editing Vehicle Types

  1. Locate the Typespecific vehicle type you wish to modify in the list.

  2. Click the Edit button next to it.the entry.

  3. Make yourthe necessary updates andto clickthe name field.

  4. Click the Save Changes. button to apply your updates.

Deleting Vehicle Types

  1. Locate the specific vehicle type you wish to remove from the list.

  2. Click the Delete button next to the entry to remove it from the system.

In order to delete a vehicle type, it must not be in use by any vehicles in the system. Administrators must first ensure that no active or archived vehicles are currently assigned this type before it can be removed. This prevents vehicle records from having blank or invalid  information.data.


  1. Locate the Type you wish to remove from the list.

  2. Click the Delete button next to it and confirm.
