Automated Violation Configuration
The Automated Violation Configuration page allows administrators to configure the automated warning and violation feature for unpermitted vehicles that remain on campus after a static-camera entry read. When an unpermitted vehicle enters campus and remains beyond a specified grace period, the system automatically evaluates driver history to send a $0 warning notice or issue a full-fine violation without requiring manual officer intervention. This article is intended for OPSCOM administrators responsible for managing automated LPR enforcement and camera workflows.
Setup and Configuration
This feature requires specific prerequisite settings and administrative account setup prior to activation.
Prerequisites
-
Pre-configured Offence Type: Ensure that a dedicated or existing Offence Type (and dollar amount) is established prior to configuring this feature. The system uses this exact offence type to track both the $0 initial warning and any subsequent violations.
-
Dedicated Ticket Writer Account: Create a dedicated admin user account before enabling this feature. Selecting a dedicated system account ensures automated tickets do not dilute or mix into real patrol officers' performance and activity reports.
Accessing Configuration Settings
-
Hover over Violations (warning icon), select LPR and Chalking, and click Automated Chalking Violation Config.
-
Configure the available fields on the Automated Violation Configuration screen:
| Setting | Description | Default / Requirement |
| Unpermitted Wait Time (minutes) |
The grace period (in minutes) an unpermitted vehicle can remain on campus after a static-camera entry read before enforcement triggers. |
|
| Warning Cooldown (days) |
The duration (in days) that a previous warning notice remains active. A repeat unpermitted entry within this window skips the warning and issues a real violation. |
|
| Offence Type & Fine |
Select the specific pre-configured violation type (and dollar amount) used for automatic citations. The system uses this exact offence type for both $0 warnings and repeat violations to track history. |
