Planning Lot Groups and Lot Zones

Quick Steps:
  1. Hover over the Parking Management icon :  then hover over Lot Administration and select Pricing & Lot Admin.
  2. Click on the Lot Name
  3. In the Edit Lot page click on Zone & Location.
  1. Create a Lot Group:

    • Type the group name (e.g., "RED Group").
    • Select the lots to add to this group.
    • Done! No time-based rules are applied in the group.
  2. Create a Zone:

    • Go to the lot admin tool.
    • Add a zone (e.g., "RED Zone") to the lot.
    • Set the valid days/times for the zone (e.g., Fridays).
    • Done! The lot is now linked to the zone.
  3. Assign Zones to Multiple Lots:

    • You can assign the same zone to multiple lots (e.g., “RED Zone” to both the Red Lot and Green Lot).
    • Specify when each lot’s zone is valid.
  4. Enforcement:

    • Patrols can select either a Lot Group or Lot Zone during enforcement.
    • Zones allow enforcement based on time/dates, and groups allow enforcement across multiple lots.

Key Points:

  • Lot Groups: Group lots for general organization; no time/date rules.
  • Lot Zones: Define specific time/date rules for parking permits.
  • A lot can be in many zones, but only one group.
