Ticket Categories
HowTicket Categories in OPS-COM allow administrators to Editdefine and manage different types of violations (e.g., Municipal, Parking, Bicycle). This feature is essential for accurate incident reporting, enforcing specific rules, and tailoring violation processes, including whether tickets apply to vehicles or users, and their visibility on handheld devices.
Using this Feature
The Manage Ticket Types
screen allows for comprehensive configuration of how different violations are classified and processed.
1. Hover over theSystem AdminConfiguration, OptionsViolations icon, and click 'Violations' then 'Manage Ticket Categories'.


Adding

ManageAdd Ticket TypesCategory'. screen
will- Enter
display.the You will see a list of ticket types that currently exist. From this menu you can add or edit Ticket Types.
Note:Category TicketName Types(e.g., canMoving Violation).
- Toggle to Allow it to be
hidden from handheld devices. This setting can be changed by Ticket Type. See Administration Fee below.

Click 'Edit Type' next to Municipal. This opens the options for that ticket type. Enable 'Visible on Handhelds'.
- For Violation Applies To: toggle if this will apply to tickets issued to vehicles and/or to Users.
- If this is for Users, toggle
whetherif oryou notwish thisto Enable Failed to Identify.
- Click Save Changes. The new ticket type will now be
availableincluded onin the handheldlist.

Editing
- Locate the ticket type you wish to
youedit if you have purchased the Violations Plus Module.
Violations Plus users can chosein the following:

Remember to click 'Save TicketChanges.

Archiving
Ticket Types can be deleted, howeverhowever, they are not actually removed from the system.system's Theydatabase. Instead, they are archived to preserve the integrity of any historical data associated with this Ticket Type.

Best Practices & Considerations
TicketClarity Typeand NameSpecificity: =Create Bicycleticket types that are clear, specific, and easily understood by both enforcement officers and users (e.g., "No Permit," "Fire Lane," "Smoking Violation").

Select both Vehicle and Users for Violation Applies To
You also have an option to enable "Fail to Identify"

Click 'Save Ticket Type'. The list will now include Bicycle as a Ticket Type.

Personal Violations

Training: Ensure enforcement staff are trained on the proper use and selection of ticket categories, especially for "Applies to"to: UsersUsers" only,violations, to ensure accurate data capture.
