Working withUnderstanding Login Sources

LoginA Sources"login definesource" whereis just the way a user comessigns from.into the system. For example, if thea user authenticatescan log in directly through OPS-COM with atheir username and passwordpassword—this storedwould be the "OPSCOM" login source. Other login sources, like SAML or LDAP, allow users to log in through an external system instead.

This setup gives you control over how users access OPS-COM thenand OPSCOMallows isyou theto source.offer Theymultiple couldlogin alsooptions comefor fromconvenience SAML,and LDAP etc. flexibility.

You can add or change login sources inby going to the Admin Options under Users.the
Users section.

Default Login Source

ByOPS-COM default, you will haveis the OPSCOMdefault login source. YouThis can seemeans that thisusers will givelog usersin thewith optionan of entering theirOPS-COM username and password.password on the standard login screen.

If we were toyou disable this optiondefault login source, then we would only be left with our SAMLother login source.sources,
like SAML, will work.

Adding Login Sources

To add a new login sources wesource, click the Add Login SourceSource” button aton the top right corner of the page.

Any required fields will be displayed in red letting you know they must be completed before you can save.

Important

The fields have multiple states which are reflected by the color they are highlighted with. 

    • Red fields are required to click save.
    • Yellow fields are required to work but still allow empty or invalid values to be saved.
    •  
    • Yellow fields can also indicate that a change has been made.

Important - The Code field is what the user profile will match against when adding users to the new login source. However, only one login source code can be activated at a time. 



Managing Login Sources

WeOnce you add login sources, you can manage our login sourcesthem by either editing or deleting them using the two buttons next to the right of each source.

Archiving a Login Source: Archiving a login source means thatremoves it from the login options users can see, and users connected to this login source will no longer display on the user side and any users associated with this source will be removedable fromto logginglog in this way.
