Phase 3 - Config and Admin Options
Let's unlock the power of OperationsCommander and really get this system configured! Now you will setup your users, lots, templates, and settings. Then we get ready to run a Penny Test and accept a payment.
Setup & Configuration Instructions
In the wiki you will find an entire section dedicated to setup and configuration. This will go into even more detail than the sections we outline below so don't be afraid to explore.
User Types
User Types in OPS-COM categorize your system users (e.g., Student, Staff, Public) and control various aspects of their interaction with the system, including access to specific lots, available payment options, and the fields visible on their profile. Configuring user types allows administrators to tailor the OPS-COM experience to different user groups, ensuring appropriate permissions and functionalities. You must consider which user types may be useful for you to set up and what the rules appropriate to those users may be. For example, you may want to allow Staff to park in different lots than Visitors. User Types will lay the groundwork for you to do this.
User Profile Settings
User Profile Settings in OPS-COM enable administrators to customize the information collected from users on their profile forms. By controlling the visibility and requirement status of various fields, you can tailor the user experience to your organizational needs, ensure necessary data is captured, and streamline the registration process.
Vehicle Configuration
You will also need to set up the Vehicle description information you are tracking.
System Settings Customization
System Settings in OPS-COM provide administrators with comprehensive control over the core functionalities and behaviors of their application, primarily impacting the administrative side. This centralized configuration area allows for fine-tuning various components, from general system parameters and security protocols to specific module functionalities like parking, violations, and payments, ensuring the system operates according to organizational needs.
Setting up the Look and Feel of the User Portal
OPS-COM administrators can define global default branding for the User Portal. By configuring the Default Site Logo and Default Site Header, you can ensure consistent branding and visual presentation across your OPS-COM User environment.
Email Template Setup
Email Templates in OPS-COM allow administrators to customize the content and appearance of automated emails sent by the system. By leveraging available shortcodes and a smart editor, you can create dynamic, informative, and engaging messages for various notifications, ensuring clear and consistent communication with users.
System Messaging
System messages allow information to be shared across multiple pages on the User Portal and they also deliver the content to your clients that is important to you.
There are several messages and elements that should be a priority when setting up a system initially. Here is a list of what should be reviewed and updated.
